Been a while...

Ottawa Senators = Frustrating.

Check that, infuriating.

When will this team ever do anything worthwhile? Why can't they ever get it together?

There are going to be changes. I hope at the top. Cannot understand it.

I had this feeling, since about January, that they were missing something, yet they kept winning...until it really mattered. No "jam"

Anyway...

Hockey's back!

...here's puck in your eye, Eddie.

on the "that is weird" front, I had "Miss You" by the Stones in my head all the way to work today. Got here, turned Media Player on in Random play mode, and guess what the first song was....ooooooooooh.

Bye Bye Bobby!

Bob Goodenow, or, as I like to call him SATAN, "resigned" as Executive Director of the NHLPA today.

"Hey Bob, here's your hat - don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out!"

He has now taken one of the biggest falls ever in the history of collective bargaining. In the past year, he has gone from having the backing of the majority of his "union" members, to - through repeatedly underestimating the resolve of the ownership side, and making absolute statements like, "the players will never accept a salary cap" that gave him and his constituency no way to save face - the unemployment line. A prime example of someone letting his ego get the better of him. Couldn't have happened to a more deserving guy.

Terrible

What do these idiots hope to accomplish by blowing up innocents on their way to work?

I'm so angry and upset about the whole situation. I'm so sad for those that lost husbanmds, wives, mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters in this mass murder. My condolences go out to all of you.

Kudos to Tony Blair. I think he handled the situation exactly as a strong leader should. Must say it was impressive to see 8+ of the world's most powerful men standing shoulder-to-shoulder behind him. It must be an incredibly hard place to be put in. Hats off to him.

Secondly, hats off to Londoners. This is a group of people, by extension, who are probably second-to-none when it comes to taking it on the chin, dusting themselves off, and getting back to it. These terrorist bastards misjudged, again, the resolve of the people they were attacking. They clearly don't have a clue, bunch of morons.

From all accounts, the emergency response team, or what ever they're calledin London, had this situation under control in an incredibly short period of time. They deserve a lot of credit. It's awful that they had to actually put their plans into effect, but they must have pulled it off perfectly.

Musings

been_thinking is my friend Léa's new blog. It seems to be a little more intelligent than mine...

A few things on my mind today. Saw the Brad Pitt interview last night. While I still think he's a "dirty boy" I have a new respect for him after Primetime Live last night (he's relieved, I'm sure). Those stories and pictures out of Ethiopia are heartbreaking and make you want to do something.

On another note, a woman in Floral Park, New York found a leg in her back yard. That's gotta suck, for her but mostly for the poor guy it belonged to! Police believe a man stowed away in the wheel well of a jet arriving from Africa.

Gordon Lightfoot wrote in Early Mornin' Rain: "You can't jump a jet plane, like you can a freight train." You really can't. All crassness aside, the woman hit it on the head when she said that she's lucky she lives in a place where she doesn't have to run away from by stowing away on a plane. Too true.

Also disturbing, but in a different way, is this story out of Shanghai.

A court in China has sentenced an online gamer to death for the real-life murder
of a fellow player after a confrontation over a virtual weapon.

The dispute involved the ownership of a "dragon sabre" in the fantasy game Legend of Mir III.

Dude. It's a game. I think you need to spend some time away from the computer. Uh, oh, right, looks like you'll have about 15 years to do that. In a Chinese prison. the dragon sabres in there are real.

Force Productions

Anybody out there looking to finance a movie should check out Force Productions. Alex is an old, dear friend of mine. Always been a movie freak. You can check out clips from his first feature Untiltled: A Love Story and some other stuff here.

He did the whole movie for less than $9-grand. In the words of Darth Vader (Alex this is for you), "Most Impressive!" I think it's especially cool that someone I have known since Grade 2 (?) is on www.imdb.com.

Am I bloggin ya?

Hey hey,

Thought I'd try this blog business out. Me and 60 million others.

This killed me today: Allegedly, today in the Phillipines, two Japanese soldiers who got separated from their unit during WWII walked out of the jungle, not knowing if the war was over. Didn't I see this on Gilligan's Island? Except there I think it was a Japanese mini-sub popped up in the lagoon, didn't know the war was over, took everyone hostage or something. Then the Professor made something out of bamboo, coconuts and palm leaves. Then of course the Japanese sailor got back in the sub and went away, stranding our poor castaways again. Brilliant that show was.

Is it just me or is the weather conspiring against me? Weekend's here, so is the rain.

Note to Real Estate Agents out there. If you're posting a house on the MLS, have pictures! The internet is a visual medium! Man that bugs me. If you don't have pictures of the inside, I'm going to assume the house is crappy. Just the way it is.
